Following the finalisation of the election schedule for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) board of directors, renewed discussion has emerged within the country’s cricket community. The election is scheduled to be held on 7 June, as announced in the official election timetable released on Saturday. The deadline for submission of councilorship nominations was 5:00 pm on the same day.
According to verified information, 184 nomination forms were submitted against a total of 192 councilor posts. Several key organisations and district sports associations did not submit any names within the stipulated timeframe, resulting in a shortfall of eight councilor positions.

Notable absences from nomination list
The final list reflects the absence of several prominent figures whose participation had been widely anticipated in cricket circles. The names of Faruk Ahmed, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, and Mahbub Anam do not appear in the councilor nominations. Similarly, Istiak Sadeq and Lokman Hossain were also not included in club nominations, thereby excluding them from direct participation in the forthcoming election process.
