The BCB is refunding spectators’ ticket money

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that fans who purchased tickets for the Bangabandhu Premier League (BPL) matches scheduled on 15 January will be refunded, following the cancellation of the games.

The Dhaka leg of the BPL was set to begin on 15 January. However, due to a controversy involving BCB director M. Najmul Islam and subsequent ultimatums from the players, the two scheduled matches on that day were unable to take place. Spectators who had arrived at the stadium were left disappointed and returned home without seeing any action on the field.

In a statement issued late on the night of 16 January, the BCB confirmed that all ticket holders for 15 January will receive full refunds. “We regret the inconvenience caused to our fans and are committed to ensuring they are reimbursed promptly,” the statement read.

The revised schedule for the BPL Dhaka leg is as follows:

Original DateRevised DateTicket Status
15 January16 JanuaryTickets refunded for 15 Jan purchasers
16 January17 JanuaryTickets valid for the revised date
17 January18 JanuaryNew tickets required

Fans who had purchased tickets for the 16 January match can use the same tickets to attend the match on 16 January, as per the updated schedule. For the matches on 17 and 18 January, spectators will need to buy tickets separately.

The BCB has provided multiple channels for fans to claim their refunds. Ticket holders can either visit the official ticketing website at www.gobcbticket.com.bd/en or contact the helpline at +880 9606-501231 for assistance.

This refund initiative reflects the BCB’s commitment to ensuring that cricket enthusiasts are not left disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control. The board has urged fans to stay updated through official announcements and assured that every effort is being made to maintain the smooth continuation of the BPL tournament.
