A violent altercation over the collection of custard apples has led to the death of a young man in the city of Bogra, Bangladesh, in an incident that has shocked local residents and prompted a police investigation.
The deceased, identified as 26-year-old Md Robin, son of Miraj from North Chelopara, was fatally attacked on Sunday at approximately 9:30 pm in the Fulbari Baniapara area of the city. According to police and eyewitness accounts, the confrontation escalated rapidly from a verbal dispute into a brutal assault involving sharp weapons.
Police stated that the conflict originated over the picking of custard apples from a local area, which initially led to a heated exchange between Robin and a group of individuals. The argument soon turned violent, and Robin was attacked with sharp-edged weapons, leaving him critically injured at the scene.
He was later rescued and taken to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where attending physicians declared him dead upon arrival. His body has since been kept in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that several items believed to have been used in the attack, including three hockey sticks and a Chinese cleaver, were recovered from the scene. These have been seized as evidence for further investigation.
