Police Constable Arrested with 50,000 Yaba Tablets

A police constable has been arrested in Chattogram while allegedly transporting a large consignment of yaba tablets collected from Cox’s Bazar to Khulna. The accused has been identified as Ashikur Islam, a serving constable of the Khulna District Police.

He was detained on Tuesday morning from in front of the Shah Amanat Bridge area near the Shaheed Basharuzzaman intersection under Bakalia Police Station in Chattogram city. Police recovered 50,000 yaba tablets from his possession during the operation.

According to available details, Ashikur Islam is the son of Babur Ali Munshi from Gobindpur Union under Muksudpur Police Station in Gopalganj district.
