In Bangladesh’s northern Sherpur region, an extraordinary sight has become a local attraction as a massive bull, named “Banglar Don”, continues to draw daily crowds to a cattle farm in Nalitabari Upazila. The animal’s striking size, calm temperament and unusual presence have turned it into an unexpected seasonal landmark ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
Located in the Kapasia West Para area, the cattle enclosure houses the bull under careful supervision at the Alif Lam Agro Farm. Visitors from nearby villages and even distant districts are arriving in growing numbers, many eager to photograph or film the animal, which has gained popularity through social media.

Farm officials describe “Banglar Don” as one of the largest bulls ever raised at the facility. Its impressive physical measurements and carefully controlled diet have contributed to its remarkable growth over the past three years.
The bull is reported to measure around 11 feet in length and approximately 6 feet 2 inches in height, with an estimated weight of nearly 33 maunds (about 1,200–1,300 kg). Its physical condition is maintained through a structured feeding and care regimen that avoids artificial fattening agents.

According to farm manager Miraj Hossain, the bull has been raised entirely on natural feed without any use of growth-enhancing injections or chemical fattening substances. He emphasised that its size is the result of consistent nutrition, hygiene, and dedicated care.
The animal receives meals several times a day and is bathed two to three times daily to maintain cleanliness and comfort. A spacious dedicated shed has been constructed to accommodate its large frame, and a small team of workers provides round-the-clock attention.
Despite its imposing size, “Banglar Don” is described as unusually calm and gentle. Farm workers say it occasionally shows mild stubbornness but responds positively to affection and regular handling. Its behaviour has contributed significantly to its popularity among visitors.
Local resident Amir Hossain, who visited the farm after hearing about the animal, remarked that its appearance and demeanour reflect a “regal presence”, comparing its calm movement to that of a well-nurtured noble creature.
Another visitor, Sazib Mia, noted that while photographs on social media were impressive, the bull’s actual size exceeded expectations when seen in person.
The farm is currently preparing around 70 cattle for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha season, with “Banglar Don” standing as the centrepiece attraction. According to farm authorities, 66 animals have already been sold through online platforms, indicating strong commercial interest.
Livestock officials from the local administration have also confirmed that demand for naturally raised, health-conscious cattle is increasing steadily, reflecting a broader shift in consumer preference towards safer meat production practices.
As Eid approaches, “Banglar Don” continues to stand quietly in its shed, attracting admiration, curiosity and a steady stream of visitors, firmly establishing itself as the most talked-about bull in the region.
