Road accidents involving passenger vehicles and locally used goods carriers can create serious challenges for rescue efforts, particularly when several people are injured at the same time. In this case, residents responded quickly after the collision and helped transport the casualties to nearby medical facilities.
The accident also disrupted movement along the Kushtia-Meherpur route for a period following the crash. Local people gathered at the scene as rescue efforts continued, while information about the incident was communicated to the police.
Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khaledur Rahman confirmed the accident.
He said Jahan Ali’s body had been kept at the mortuary of Kushtia General Hospital. The injured had been rescued and taken to different hospitals for treatment.
The officer added that further legal action would be taken if the deceased’s family submitted a formal complaint.
Police are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision as part of the subsequent legal process. The exact factors that led to the two vehicles colliding head-on were not immediately established.
The death has left Jahan Ali’s family and relatives mourning, while the injured continue to receive treatment at hospitals in the area.
