Passenger Bus Set Ablaze in Tangail, No Casualties Reported

In Baikhola on the Dhaka–Tangail Highway, a passenger bus was set on fire by unidentified individuals on Wednesday (12 November) at around 1:00 am. According to police, the bus, named ‘Bangla Star’, was travelling slowly from Dhaka to Pabna due to a prior accident when the attackers ignited it.

All passengers, helpers, and the driver quickly evacuated the vehicle. Two units of Tangail Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control. Senior Station Officer S M Humayun Karnain confirmed that the fire was swiftly contained and, fortunately, no casualties occurred. However, the front and middle sections of the bus were extensively damaged.

Authorities have stated that the quick evacuation ensured the safety of passengers and prevented a major disaster. Police are currently investigating the remaining vehicle and the circumstances of the attack.
