In Shibchar, Madaripur, a sugar-laden truck was set on fire on Thursday (13 November) at around 8:30 am. At the same time, assailants also vandalised a police vehicle.
According to the Highway Police, during an attempt to block the Dhaka–Bhanga Expressway in the morning, the attackers placed tree branches on the road, disrupting traffic, and set fire to the truck. The Highway Police promptly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar Highway Police Station, Md. Zahurul Islam, stated that the situation is now under control and police patrols continue.
Madaripur Superintendent of Police, Md. Naimul Hasan, confirmed that traffic on the highway has returned to normal and suspects are being searched for.
