In Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar, police have recovered the partially decomposed body of an unidentified woman from a bag near the Tachakhali Bridge in the Haldia Palong Union.
Ukhia police station’s Officer-in-Charge, Ziaul Haque, stated that the body was recovered on Thursday (14 November) evening and sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been confirmed.
According to the OC, locals noticed a strong stench coming from an abandoned bag by the canal and informed the police. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain the partially decomposed body of a woman. Due to the advanced decomposition, the face was unrecognizable. Police believe that the woman was killed at least a week ago and her body was placed in the bag by the perpetrators.
The OC added that the motive and the culprits of the crime are still unknown, and the police are investigating the case.
