National Life Pays Tk 72.5 Million in Insurance Claims

National Life Insurance has paid a total of Tk 72.5 million in insurance claims at a claims settlement, award distribution and development meeting held in Narsingdi, highlighting the company’s focus on timely customer service and business performance.

The event was organised by the company’s Greater Dhaka, Gauripur, Brahmanbaria and Sylhet areas at Dream Holiday Park in Narsingdi on Wednesday, 19 August. Alongside the settlement of insurance claims, successful development officers were recognised for their performance in premium collection.

National Life Insurance chairman Toffazzel Hossain attended the programme as the chief guest, while chief executive officer Mohammad Kazim Uddin presided over the event. Deputy managing directors and senior executives of the company, including DMD and CFO Prabir Chandra Das FCA, DMD Mohammad Abul Kasem and DMD Bahar Uddin Majumdar, were also present.

During the programme, the chairman handed over insurance claim cheques directly to policyholders and beneficiaries. Awards were also presented to development officers who achieved notable results in premium collection.

Around 5,000 officials from different zones under the four participating areas attended the event, making it a major gathering for the company’s field-level and managerial staff.

Addressing the gathering, Toffazzel Hossain said the company had established itself as one of the leading life insurers in Bangladesh through what he described as a commitment to integrity, fairness and sincere customer service. He stressed the importance of protecting customers’ savings and settling legitimate claims within the appropriate timeframe.

“Customer confidence is closely linked to the ability of an insurance company to honour its commitments,” the chairman said, underscoring the importance of maintaining trust between insurers and policyholders.

Chief executive officer Mohammad Kazim Uddin said National Life Insurance had been contributing to Bangladesh’s insurance sector for 42 years. He said the premiums collected by the company are invested in banks, insurance-related financial instruments and government bonds, while the company also contributes to the national exchequer through taxes, value-added tax and stamp duties.

The event brought together claimants, field officials, senior management and development officers, combining customer service with internal recognition of business performance. The payment of Tk 72.5 million in claims was a central part of the programme, providing financial support to policyholders and beneficiaries entitled to receive the proceeds of their insurance policies.

The company’s leadership also used the gathering to emphasise the role of its field force in maintaining premium collection and strengthening relationships with policyholders. Recognition of successful development officers was intended to acknowledge their contribution to the company’s business activities.

For customers, timely claim settlement remains one of the most visible measures of an insurer’s service quality. The Narsingdi programme therefore served both as a claims-disbursement initiative and as an opportunity for National Life Insurance to reaffirm its stated commitment to policyholder service and long-term participation in Bangladesh’s financial sector.
