The law enforcement authorities in Cumilla have arrested an individual accused of attempting to sexually assault a 12-year-old child by enticing the victim with the promise of snacks. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Delwar Hossain, was apprehended by police officers in the Daudkandi upazila of the district.

The suspect allegedly lured the young child into his commercial shop by offering to give the victim a packet of crisps. Once the child entered the premises, Hossain reportedly pulled down and locked the shop’s rolling shutter to prevent escape and proceeded with the attempted assault. Local residents noticed the suspicious closure of the shop and intervened by forcing the shutter open, thereby rescuing the child from the scene.
