A tragic accident on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj highway claimed the lives of three teenagers on Sunday afternoon, leaving the local community in shock and mourning. Eyewitnesses reported that reckless speed was the primary cause of the fatal crash.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. in the Kathaltoli area, a busy stretch of the highway that connects key towns in the region. Residents described the crash as “sudden and devastating,” highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety on this frequently travelled route.

Road Safety Concerns

The Bhairab-Kishoreganj highway is a vital transportation link for commuters and commercial traffic. Over the past few years, the highway has been the site of multiple fatal accidents, prompting calls from local authorities and residents for increased patrols, traffic signage, and public awareness programmes. Experts warn that without systematic enforcement and community engagement, such tragedies are likely to recur.

This latest accident serves as a harrowing reminder of the dangers of reckless driving, particularly among young motorcyclists. The families of the deceased and the wider community now face the difficult task of mourning while advocating for safer roads.
