Renowned Bangladeshi musician , who has been residing permanently in the United States with his wife and daughter, made a surprise return to Bangladesh on the night of 2 April. Without informing the public, Protik arrived with his family and is currently staying at his residence in Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
The primary purpose of his visit is to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with close relatives and family members. Alongside the festive gatherings, Protik plans to release three new songs for the occasion before returning to the United States.
Speaking to the press, Protik revealed that he had deliberately kept his visit secret, informing only his mother and younger brother, fellow musician . Despite the suddenness of his arrival, he has meticulously planned his activities during the stay.
“My return is driven by the pull of home and family,” said Protik. “I wanted to spend Eid with my loved ones, and during this visit, I will also work on three new songs. The lyrics for all three are written by me and Pritam, and I have composed the music and arranged it myself. The preliminary plans for the music videos are also ready, and shooting will begin in a few days.”
On the style of the upcoming releases, Protik added, “It has been a while since I produced melody songs, so I am focusing on that. One song is a sad romantic track, another is a full-fledged romantic song, and the third is trendy, reflecting contemporary musical trends.”
During his stay, Protik has also reconnected with colleagues and friends, including , , and . “Meeting friends and acquaintances has been heartwarming,” he said. “I truly miss this companionship when living abroad, and no love can compare to this.”
Protik is scheduled to perform at several concerts across the country, including a joint performance with Pritam Hasan on 18 April in Rangpur.
