Posthumous Lucky Akhand Song Issued Online

A further unpublished composition by Lucky Akhand has been released, extending the body of work he created but did not issue during his lifetime. The song, titled ‘Na Dukkho Diye’, carries lyrics by Golam Morshed and is performed by vocalist Swaralipi.

The release has been made through the YouTube channel of the production house Gaan Janala. Musical arrangement has been completed by Sajib Das. The accompanying music video has been directed by Rumki Rusa and Mashrur Hossain.

Commenting on the song, Golam Morshed said that he had written numerous lyrics for Lucky Akhand, a number of which remain unreleased. He identified ‘Na Dukkho Diye’ as one of his most valued works, stating that it is among the three songs he considers his favourites. He also expressed the expectation that the track would find a positive response among audiences, noting Swaralipi’s standing as a capable artist of the current generation.

Swaralipi described the opportunity to perform a composition by Lucky Akhand as significant for her professional development. She stated that while artists often record multiple songs, some pieces carry a particular personal importance and contribute to artistic satisfaction. She indicated that this song falls into that category and is likely to remain a notable part of her career.

Earlier, on 15 April, another collaboration between Lucky Akhand and Golam Morshed—‘Jar Kachhe Mon Rekhe’—was released. These releases have coincided with the observance of Lucky Akhand’s death anniversary on 21 April. He died in 2017 following a prolonged illness related to lung cancer.

According to Golam Morshed, several additional compositions by Lucky Akhand are still preserved in his collection. From this archive, he has recently overseen the release of two songs in succession. These efforts have brought previously unheard material to audiences and contribute to maintaining the presence of Lucky Akhand’s work in the public domain.
