Elderly Carpenter Found Dead in Ghoraghat

In the Ghoraghat Municipality of Dinajpur district, police have recovered the body of Shah Alam (60), an elderly carpenter, with his throat slit. The incident has created significant public concern in the area, with uncertainty surrounding the exact cause of death. According to available information, the body was recovered on Saturday morning (17 May) from his residence in South Noyapara village under Ghoraghat Municipality. Following the recovery, police collected necessary evidence from the scene before sending the body to the morgue at the M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur for post-mortem examination.

The family of the deceased has stated that a domestic dispute occurred early in the morning between Shah Alam and his wife. They further claim that, in a state of agitation, he struck his own head and subsequently took his own life by cutting his throat with a sharp weapon.
