Arms Recovered in Noapara Operation

In a targeted special operation in the Noapara area of Raujian Upazila in Chattogram, personnel from Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) recovered an abandoned single-barrel gun and a double-barrel pipe gun on Monday morning (18 May). The recovery, made during an intelligence-led raid, prompted heightened attention in the locality, though authorities have confirmed that no arrests were made at the scene.

According to RAB-7 sources, the operation was conducted following confidential information suggesting the presence of suspicious materials in the area. Acting on this input, a specialised team carried out a search of the identified location and discovered the two firearms abandoned. Preliminary assessments indicate that the weapons had likely been left unattended for an extended period.

Officials emphasised that, at this stage, there is no confirmed information regarding ownership of the firearms or the individuals who may have previously possessed or used them. RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) A. R. M. Mozzafar Hossain stated that initial observations suggest the firearms may have been abandoned for a considerable time. He further noted that authorities are actively investigating all possible angles, including any potential local networks that may be linked to the possession or disposal of the weapons.

Following standard procedure, the recovered arms were handed over to Raujian Police Station for further legal processing. Police will now lead the subsequent phase of investigation, including forensic examination and efforts to trace any associated individuals or groups.
