I am continuously inundated with casting offers, but scheduling and conceptual alignments rarely permit me to execute them.”

“When Asif Altaf presented the project and emphasized that the narrative specifically required my participation, the title Pencil Hill instantly captured my attention. Upon evaluating the audio track, I discovered an exceptionally distinctive song. The lyrics accurately portray the psychological weariness and melancholia of contemporary life, which prompted my immediate agreement to participate.”

Reflecting on the pre-production phase, Asif Altaf revealed that the audio track had been archived for an extended period while he searched for an actress capable of conveying the song’s emotional weight.
“The composition and lyrics of Pencil Hill were finalized a long time ago,” Altaf stated. “My fundamental objective was to secure a performer whose artistic identity aligned seamlessly with the composition. The idea unexpectedly emerged to approach Mou, who has been a deeply admired artist since our childhood. Receiving her formal consent to collaborate was a source of immense professional satisfaction.”
