Music enthusiasts across Dhaka are anticipating a major concert experience as the long-delayed ‘Wave Fest’ secures its official return. The flagship event brings celebrated Pakistani band Kaavish back to the Bangladeshi capital, sharing the stage with two of the nation’s premier musical acts, Shironahin and Meghdol. Organized by Prime Wave Communication, the grand musical gathering—officially titled ‘Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon’—is set to take place on 26 September.
The journey to this stage has been marked by significant setbacks. The concert was originally scheduled for 5 December last year under the title ‘Wave Fest: Feel the Winter’. However, prevailing nationwide circumstances and administrative hurdles prevented the organisers from securing necessary official permits, forcing an abrupt, last-minute cancellation. After a ten-month hiatus, the event returns with a renewed format and fresh momentum.
Prime Wave Communication confirmed the revised dates across their official social media handles, though details regarding the exact venue remain intentionally restricted. Citing security concerns and audience management considerations, the team announced that the location within Dhaka will be disclosed closer to the event date.
For fans who retained their passes from the cancelled December date, organisers confirmed that existing tickets remain fully valid for entry. Concurrent with this announcement, fresh ticket sales launched on the digital ticketing portal Tickify over the weekend. Standard general admission tickets are priced at BDT 2,999, whilst VIP passes are available at BDT 5,499.
This performance marks a quick return for Kaavish, who made their Bangladeshi debut in January 2025. Formed in 1998 by Jaffer Zaidi and Maaz Maudood, the Lahore-based semi-classical outfit built a distinct soundscape combining traditional melodies with contemporary arrangements. Following the release of their acclaimed debut album Gunkali in 2009, signature tracks including Bachpan, Tere Pyar Mein, More Sayaan, Nindiya Re, and Faasle solidified their following across South Asia.
Sharing the platform are two mainstays of the local music scene. Meghdol enters the line-up following notable regional engagements, including their collaborative concert ‘Megher Shongge Chander Dekha’ in Kolkata alongside West Bengal’s Chandrabindoo, as well as the release of their track Mulluk on Coke Studio Bangla. Meanwhile, Shironahin maintains a consistent domestic tour schedule, bolstered by the launch of their recent single, Shopner Ticket.
Despite the venue remaining undisclosed, early ticket sales and public interest indicate a strong turnout for the 26 September showcase.
