Raef Al Hasan Rafa, a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s rock music scene, is set to mark the release of his new album with a special solo concert in Dhaka, featuring a reunion of several musicians associated with Aurthohin’s much-remembered ‘Aushomapto’ line-up.
Titled ‘Eto Boka Keno Tumi’, the concert will be held at InterContinental Dhaka on 2 October. The event will centre on Rafa’s new album of the same name, while also bringing together familiar faces from an earlier chapter of his musical career.
Among the evening’s key attractions will be the appearance of Bassbaba Sumon, Raef Al Hasan Rafa, Shishir Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal on the same stage. The four musicians are associated with the ‘Aushomapto’ line-up of Aurthohin, making their reunion a notable part of the planned concert.
The new album features songs by AvoidRafa, reflecting the band’s changing sound, ideas and experiences. Through the project, Rafa continues to explore different musical expressions while retaining the energy and identity that have characterised his work across a career spanning around two decades.
Rafa has remained active in Bangladesh’s music scene for nearly 20 years. His career includes associations with influential rock bands such as Aurthohin and Cryptic Fate, before he went on to form AvoidRafa. His work across these different phases has established a connection with listeners who have followed the development of Bangladesh’s rock music over the years.
The upcoming concert will feature several of Rafa’s familiar songs, including ‘Cholo Arekbar Uri’, ‘Tumi Daklei Firbo’ and ‘Ami Akash Pathabo’. Alongside the musical performances, Rafa will talk about different stages of his career, sharing stories and experiences from his journey in music.
This combination of live performances and personal recollections is expected to give audiences a broader perspective on Rafa’s work.
