Tanjin Mithila Returns to Cinema Music with New Song

Popular singer Tanjin Mithila is set to return to the world of film music after a break of several years. She has lent her voice to a new song for the upcoming film Filter, marking another step in her continuing musical journey across original songs, television productions and live performances.

The song, titled ‘Bujhena Bujhena Mon’, has been written by Salahuddin Sagar, while Sajib Khan has composed and arranged the music. Mithila has recorded the song alongside fellow singer Monir. She completed her vocal recording for the film three days ago.

Mithila said she was particularly impressed by both the lyrics and melody when she first heard the song. That experience has raised her expectations about how the track may be received once it is released.

According to the singer, everyone present during the recording session responded positively to the song. She hopes that the emotional quality of the composition will connect with listeners and viewers, and that her performance will help the track find a lasting place in the audience’s hearts.

For Mithila, the significance of a film song extends beyond its release. She believes some songs associated with films remain memorable for generations and can become an important part of an artist’s identity. She has approached ‘Bujhena Bujhena Mon’ with a similar aspiration, putting particular attention into her vocal performance.

The singer is also keeping busy with several other musical projects. She has already recorded three or four original songs, although details of those upcoming releases have not yet been disclosed. Alongside studio work, she has been performing at a number of stage shows in Dhaka and surrounding areas, maintaining a regular connection with live audiences.

Mithila recently appeared with a new original song, ‘Piriti Piriti’. The lyrics were written by Ashik Mahmud, while Akash Mahmud handled the composition and music arrangement. Mithila also appeared in the song’s music video, adding an acting element to the project.

Her recent work also includes a song for the special television drama Ichchete Je Here Gechhe. Titled ‘Bornomala’, the song was written by Atik Mahmud and composed by Ahsan Jamil Aanchal. Mithila performed the track as a duet with Aanchal. The drama has been directed by Sadnan Rony.

Mithila’s musical career has also included songwriting and composition. Earlier, she released a solo album titled Mon Re under the Laser Vision banner. All the songs on that album were written and composed by Mithila herself, reflecting another side of her artistic identity beyond vocal performance.

Outside her professional commitments, Mithila has also been making time for her family. She recently travelled to Nagarpur in Tangail for personal reasons and plans to visit her parents in Netrokona before the middle of October. She said she has not been able to meet them for a considerable period and therefore wants to spend some time with them.

With a new film song awaiting release, several original tracks in the pipeline and continued stage performances, Mithila currently has a busy schedule. The response to ‘Bujhena Bujhena Mon’ will now be closely watched as she returns to a musical space she has explored before.
