Arijit and Diljit Tours Reveal Contrasting Concert Ticket Prices

India is preparing for a spectacular season of live music, with two of the country’s biggest musical stars, Arijit Singh and Diljit Dosanjh, announcing major concert tours. While both performers are expected to attract enormous crowds, the striking difference in their premium ticket prices has become a major talking point among music enthusiasts.

A luxury package for Arijit Singh’s upcoming concert in Mumbai costs an astonishing Rs 11.8 lakh (£1.18 million in Indian rupee terms), while the most expensive individual ticket for Diljit Dosanjh’s forthcoming AURA tour is priced at Rs 17,999. The figures highlight the growing demand for exclusive concert experiences in India’s expanding live entertainment industry.

According to a report published by The Indian Express on 21 October, Arijit Singh will embark on a nine-city tour across India in 2027, marking his first major nationwide concert series since announcing in January 2026 that he would step away from recording new songs for films.

The tour will also celebrate his two decades in the music industry, making it a significant occasion for both the singer and his admirers.

Arijit’s official ticketing partner, ThumpN, has confirmed that entry-level tickets will start at Rs 999. At the opposite end of the pricing structure, a premium package for his Mumbai concert on 20 February 2027 will cost Rs 11.8 lakh.

The exclusive arrangement, available at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, accommodates 15 people at a specially reserved table and includes a range of luxury services designed to offer an enhanced concert experience.

Guests purchasing the package will receive comfortable seating, exclusive gifts, dedicated entry and exit arrangements, and access to separate lavatory facilities. A content creator will also be available to capture moments from the concert and produce videos suitable for sharing on social media.

The premium experience goes considerably beyond simply securing a desirable view of the stage.

Across the other cities included in Arijit’s tour, the most expensive hospitality packages generally range from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Despite these substantial prices, demand has reportedly remained strong.

Citing Billboard India, the report stated that approximately 60 per cent of tickets in the highest-priced categories had already been sold, suggesting that the premium offerings have found a receptive audience.

Such expensive concert arrangements are not entirely new for Arijit. Around three years ago, a premium lounge accommodating 40 guests at one of his concerts in Pune reportedly sold for Rs 16 lakh.

The earlier sale demonstrated that there was already an established market for exclusive hospitality arrangements at his performances, well before his latest tour was announced.

Arijit’s forthcoming musical journey will begin on 9 January 2027 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He will then perform in Chandigarh on 23 January, Jaipur on 7 February and Mumbai on 20 February.

The tour will continue in Bengaluru on 13 March, New Delhi on 27 March, Pune on 10 April and Indore on 1 May, before concluding in Hyderabad on 15 May.

Organisers anticipate that approximately 500,000 people will attend the concerts across the nine cities.

The scale of the tour reflects Arijit’s enduring popularity and the strong audience interest surrounding his return to major live performances following his decision to withdraw from recording new film songs.

Meanwhile, Punjabi singer and performer Diljit Dosanjh is preparing to return to India as part of his international AURA tour, offering audiences a different premium ticket pricing structure.

Like Arijit’s concerts, Diljit’s upcoming performances will have entry-level tickets beginning at Rs 999. However, the highest-priced individual ticket, available for the VIP lounge at his Mumbai concert, has been set at Rs 17,999.

Diljit’s Indian tour is scheduled to begin on 21 November 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, followed by a performance in Mumbai on 27 November.

He will then take the stage in Bengaluru on 29 November and Lucknow on 5 December. Chandigarh has also been included as the fifth destination, although the date of the final concert has yet to be officially announced.

The new tour follows the remarkable commercial success of his 2024 Dil-Luminati concert series, which attracted substantial audiences across India and strengthened his position as one of the country’s most prominent live performers.

The popularity of that earlier tour has generated considerable expectations for AURA, particularly among fans eager to experience his energetic performances once again.

Despite the enormous difference between the headline prices, an important distinction must be made when comparing the two singers’ concert offerings.

Arijit’s Rs 11.8 lakh package is not the price of a single admission ticket. It covers an exclusive arrangement for 15 people, meaning the average cost works out to approximately Rs 78,667 per person if the package is shared equally.

By contrast, Diljit’s Rs 17,999 figure represents the cost of one premium-category ticket.

The two prices therefore relate to different types of concert experiences and cannot be treated as a direct comparison between individual admissions.

Both artists are also offering considerably more affordable entry-level tickets, allowing a wider range of music enthusiasts to attend their performances without purchasing expensive hospitality packages.

The contrasting pricing strategies reflect a broader development in India’s live music industry, where major concerts increasingly cater to different sections of the audience.

While some fans are primarily interested in attending a performance at an accessible price, others are prepared to spend significantly more on exclusive seating, additional comfort and personalised services.

Arijit’s nine-city celebration of his musical career and Diljit’s return with AURA illustrate the commercial opportunities emerging within this growing entertainment market.

With hundreds of thousands of spectators expected to attend major concerts over the coming months, the two tours are set to become important highlights of India’s live music calendar.

Their differing premium ticket arrangements also demonstrate how organisers are balancing affordable admission with the growing appetite for luxury concert experiences.
