Sirajganj Auto-Rickshaw Driver Murder: Three Arrested, Confess in Court

Three individuals have been arrested by DB police in connection with the recovery of the skeleton of the well-known Sirajganj auto-rickshaw driver, Amirul Islam. On Wednesday (5 November) afternoon, they appeared in court and confessed under Section 164.

The arrested are Shaheb Ali (25), Moniruzzaman Sarker (44) from Chaknihall village, and Abdul Aziz Pramanik (31) from Wasin village. The deceased, Amirul Islam (20), was the son of the late Ahmad Ali of Alidah village under Solanga Police Station.

Investigation officer SI Nazmul Haque of Sirajganj DB Police stated that Amirul left home on 5 August afternoon with his auto-rickshaw and did not return. On 10 October afternoon, a skeleton was recovered from under water hyacinths in a pond in Chaknihall village, which his family identified as Amirul’s.

Following operations from Tuesday to Wednesday morning, the three were arrested. Various stolen items from the rickshaw were also recovered based on their information. In court, they admitted their guilt, and Senior Judicial Magistrate Omar Faruq recorded their confessions before they were sent to jail.
