Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has sharply criticised a political party for allegedly misleading the public under the guise of Islam. Speaking at an election rally in Harirhpara School Ground, Faujlpur, Narayanganj, on Friday evening, he asserted that the party is “dreaming of seizing power alone, but in doing so, they have destroyed the ripe grain with a spade. They will not govern the country according to Sharia. They have deceived us by using the label of Islam.”
The rally was organised in support of Mufti Ismail Siraji, the candidate of the “Hand Fan” symbol for the Narayanganj-4 constituency. Rezaul Karim warned voters against being complicit in what he described as political treachery, stating, “They secretly hold meetings with neighbouring countries, undermining our trust. Those who betray their own brothers cannot implement the ideals of Islam.”
Addressing the crowd, he emphasised that voters should not allow themselves to be used as a stepping stone for others’ political ambitions. “Now there is only one box that truly represents Islam — the Hand Fan box. I urge first-time young voters to cast their votes in support of Islam. I also appeal to mothers, sisters, and elders to try voting for the Hand Fan at least once,” he said.
The rally also featured speeches by key party figures, who reinforced the call for Islamic governance and urged the public to resist political deception. The prominent speakers and their positions are summarised in the table below:
