Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to field first in the opening match of the three-match T20 International series against Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The visitors will look to make an early impact with the ball as they begin their campaign in the series on Wednesday (15 July 2026).
The decision to bowl first reflects Bangladesh’s confidence in their bowling attack and their desire to take advantage of the early conditions at the Bulawayo venue. The Tigers have included a balanced combination of spin and pace options in their playing XI, featuring two specialist spinners and three frontline pacers.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed and all-rounder Sheikh Mahedi Hasan will lead Bangladesh’s spin department, while the pace attack will be handled by experienced campaigner Taskin Ahmed alongside Mohammad Saif Uddin and young fast bowler Nahid Rana.
Bangladesh have gone into the match with a blend of experience and emerging talent. Captain Towhid Hridoy will lead the side, with the batting line-up featuring Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan, Saif Hasan and Yasir Ali Chowdhury. Wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan has also been included to strengthen the middle order and provide stability behind the stumps.

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza will be expected to play a key role with both bat and ball. Alongside him, Milton Shumba will provide support in the spin department, while the batting order includes Brian Bennett, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Dion Myers and Ryan Burl.

The three-match series provides both sides with an opportunity to test their combinations and build momentum in the shortest format. A strong start in the first match could prove crucial in shaping the direction of the series.
