Flick introduced Gordon after the break, and the substitute quickly justified his selection. His contribution proved decisive as two precise passes from the winger led to further goals for the visitors.

Raphinha struck again to make it 3–0 before Fermin Lopez added Barcelona’s fourth. With Elche increasingly stretched, Barcelona continued to dictate the tempo and looked capable of extending their advantage whenever they moved forward.

Fermin completed the scoring late in the match. The young midfielder received a pass from Xavi Esparter before finding the net for his second goal of the evening, completing a memorable individual performance and sealing Barcelona’s 5–0 victory.

The result sends an early message about Barcelona’s ambitions for the season. After successfully claiming the league title last campaign, the club have begun their latest challenge with a performance built around attacking efficiency, individual quality and a strong contribution from their new arrivals.

For Raphinha, the brace was particularly significant as he immediately established himself as one of the key figures in Barcelona’s opening performance. Fermin’s two goals also highlighted the growing influence of the club’s younger players, while Adeyemi’s debut goal offered an early glimpse of what Barcelona hope their new attacking recruit can bring.

Gordon’s two assists added another positive element to the performance. Coming off the bench and directly contributing to three points demonstrated the depth available to Flick as Barcelona look to maintain their challenge across a long domestic campaign.

A 5–0 victory in the opening fixture could hardly have provided a more convincing beginning to Barcelona’s title defence. The season is still in its early stages, but the reigning champions have already made their intentions clear: they intend to remain at the top.
