The recovery was made on Tuesday around 11:00 a.m. from the Chanakhali canal near Shakyamuni Buddhist monastery in Bhati Khaine Union. Acting swiftly on information received through the national emergency helpline 999, police reached the scene and retrieved the body from the water.
According to local accounts, a fisherman went to the canal early in the morning to cast his net. While pulling it back, he noticed something unusual entangled in it. On closer inspection, he discovered a human body floating in a highly decomposed state.
