Rahul Chahar Announces Divorce Ahead Anniversary

Indian leg-spinner Rahul Chahar has confirmed his divorce from his wife, Ishani Johar, just days before the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary. The couple had married on 9 March 2022 in Goa, when Chahar was only 22 years old.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Chahar described the past 15 months as the most challenging period of his life. He revealed that navigating the legal proceedings of his divorce was a long and arduous process, teaching him lessons he could never have anticipated.

He wrote, “I got married at a very young age, before I fully understood myself, my values, or the kind of life I wanted to build. Since then, I’ve faced experiences I never imagined. Over the past fifteen months, going through the court proceedings, I’ve learned patience, resilience, and how to draw strength from truth.”

Chahar added, “Today, this chapter of my life has formally come to an end. The legal process is complete, which came at a significant cost, but I close this chapter not with anger or regret, but with clarity. Some relationships are not meant to last forever; they wake us up, teach us, and ultimately transform us.”

Despite this personal upheaval, Chahar remains focused on his cricketing career. Having represented India in seven white-ball matches, he is set to play in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. In last year’s IPL auction, he was acquired by Chennai Super Kings for ₹5.2 crore.

Chahar’s IPL career to date has seen him play 79 matches, taking 75 wickets. Last season, he made just one appearance for Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which he failed to take a wicket. Previously, he was part of the Mumbai Indians squads that won the IPL titles in 2019 and 2020.
