Eid Special Star-Studded Showcase

The upcoming Eid-ul-Azha edition of Bangladesh Television’s much-loved magazine programme Anandamela is set to deliver an especially vibrant and carefully curated festive broadcast, bringing together some of the country’s most celebrated performers for a richly diverse entertainment experience.

This year’s edition is drawing particular attention for an unprecedented collaboration: for the first time, legendary vocalists Runa Laila and Baby Naznin will appear in the same episode, marking a significant moment for audiences who have long associated both artistes with separate appearances on the programme over the years. Their joint presence is being regarded as one of the key highlights of this year’s Eid celebrations on television.

According to the organisers, the programme has been designed to reflect the festive spirit through a blend of music, dance, drama segments, and special performances. Each segment aims to offer viewers a varied and engaging experience suitable for family audiences during the holiday period.

As part of the musical highlights, Runa Laila will perform her timeless classic “Ei Brishti Bheja Raate Chole Jeyo Na”, a song that continues to resonate across generations for its emotional depth and melodic richness. Meanwhile, Baby Naznin is set to deliver her widely admired track “Kal Sara Raat”, a composition that has maintained its popularity over time and remains a staple in her repertoire.

Both artistes have expressed their enthusiasm about revisiting their signature songs for a festive audience, noting that Eid offers a unique opportunity to reimagine familiar works in a refreshed and emotionally engaging way.

Dance and performance segments will further enhance the programme’s appeal. Renowned dancer Sadia Islam Mou will lead a group choreography piece, while television personalities Mehazabien Chowdhury and Sabila Noor will present a specially arranged dance performance. Adding a nostalgic dimension, Ferdous Wahid will revisit and reinterpret popular pop numbers from the 1980s, introducing classic rhythms to younger audiences.

The programme is hosted by Afran Nisho, whose presence adds further star value to the production.
