Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury marked his first competitive appearance for Sheffield United with a dramatic victory, as the Championship side defeated Bolton Wanderers 3-2 at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
The result gave Sheffield United their first win of the season and ended a run of three consecutive draws at the start of their campaign. For Hamza, who had recently joined the club on a permanent basis, the occasion carried an added significance as he began his new chapter with a victory in front of the home supporters.

As the clock moved towards full time, a draw appeared increasingly likely. Sheffield, though, had one final opportunity to change the outcome. In the last minute of normal time, Romelle Donovan struck the winning goal, sending the home side into celebrations and securing a 3-2 victory.
The statistics reflected how closely contested the match had been. Sheffield enjoyed 53 per cent possession and attempted 20 shots, while Bolton had 47 per cent of the ball and produced 21 attempts. Five of Bolton’s efforts were on target, compared with Sheffield’s three goals from their attacking opportunities.
For Hamza, the victory provided an ideal beginning to life at Sheffield United. Making his first appearance for the club after joining permanently, he experienced the intensity of Championship football while helping his new side claim an important early-season result.
The victory could also prove valuable for Sheffield’s momentum. After three draws, finally securing three points at home gives the team an early boost and ends a run that had begun to create pressure for a first win.
