In a swift night-time operation, law enforcement officers in Narsingdi intercepted and arrested two members of an armed highway robbery syndicate responsible for terrorizing commercial drivers along regional routes. The crackdowns followed a violent armed robbery on the Panchdona-Ghorashal highway, during which a truck driver was held at gunpoint.

The details were formally disclosed during a media briefing held at Madhabdi Police Station by Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin) Md. Ashiqur Rahman, alongside Narsingdi Sadar Circle ASP Sajib and Officer-in-Charge Md. Kamal Hossain.

Tactical Raid & Legal Action

The heist occurred around 2:00 AM on Monday when a three-member gang ambushed the truck, brandishing a foreign-made handgun to intimidate the driver before looting cash and personal belongings. Acting on immediate operational orders from Narsingdi Superintendent of Police Md. Abdullah-Al-Farooq, a specialized patrol team under Sub-Inspector (SI) Yusuf Ahmed initiated targeted raids across nearby localities.

The intervention led to the apprehension of Shuvo and Fahim, who subsequently led officers to the recovery of the hidden firearm, live ammunition, and stolen currency.

Police have officially registered two separate criminal cases under the Arms Act and relevant robbery statutes at Madhabdi Police Station. Authorities confirmed both suspects carry prior criminal records, and tactical teams continue intelligence-led drives to track down the third fleeing accomplice.
