Light to moderate rain likely over country, The met office today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country.

“Light to moderate rain or thunders-howers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in two districts of the country. “Mild heat wave is sweeping over Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue,” said the bulletin. However, the day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga while the minimum temperature today was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 119 mm at Sylhet. The sun sets at 6.15 pm today and rises at 5.41 am tomorrow in the capital.
