A tragic road accident in Oman has claimed the lives of four Bangladeshi expatriates, sending shockwaves through the local Bangladeshi community. The fatal incident occurred on Thursday, 1 January, at approximately 5:00 am in the Azaiba area of the Omani capital, Muscat. Among the deceased, two were from Cox’s Bazar and the other two from Comilla.
According to local Bangladeshi community sources, the victims were travelling in a private vehicle to their workplace when their car collided with another vehicle. Emergency services rushed them to hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, all four succumbed to their injuries before medical intervention could save them.

The deceased have been placed in the mortuary of Medical City Military Hospital (MCMSS) in the Riscail Madinat Al-Taba area of Muscat. The driver of the vehicle, a Bangladeshi named Saeed and a native of Comilla, is currently receiving treatment in critical condition at Kula Hospital.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Oman has stated that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. The authorities have confirmed that the bodies will be repatriated to Bangladesh following the completion of local legal procedures.
