In a tragic road accident in Chitalmari, a 40-year-old motorcyclist lost his life when his vehicle collided with a passenger bus on the Dhaka-Pirojpur Regional Highway. The incident occurred at Banglabazar on Wednesday morning, 25 March, around 10:30 am.

The deceased, identified as Md. Babu Molla, was the son of the late Nasir Molla of Matuaail, Dhaka South City Corporation. He was reportedly travelling on the highway when the fatal collision occurred.

According to Leader A. Rahim of the Chitalmari Fire Service Station, a passenger bus, registered as Pirojpur B-05-001 and travelling from Khulna, struck the oncoming motorcycle with significant force at Banglabazar. The impact caused the motorcycle to crumple, and Babu Molla was thrown beneath the bus, resulting in instantaneous death at the scene.

Chitalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Nazrul Islam confirmed that the bus involved in the accident has been seized and that legal proceedings are currently underway. Investigations are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances that led to the collision.

The accident has once again highlighted concerns about road safety on regional highways, where speeding buses and motorcycles often share narrow roadways. Authorities urge motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly in areas prone to heavy traffic and frequent accidents.
