The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) has recovered an abandoned Pakistani-manufactured revolver and two rounds of ammunition from an under-construction washroom on the premises of a madrasah in Ashulia, Dhaka. The firearm and ammunition were seized during an afternoon raid on Wednesday, 17 June, at the educational institution located in the Sreepur Gonokbari area under the jurisdiction of Ashulia Police Station.
Raid Details and Seizure Context
According to sources within the elite force, a patrol team from the CPC-2, Nabinagar Camp of RAB-4 conducted the operation based on precise intelligence. Initially, law enforcement officials received reports suggesting that narcotics dealers had stockpiled illegal substances within the madrasah compound. Acting upon this specific information, the personnel initiated a thorough search of the premises.
During the operation, the team focused on an under-construction washroom situated adjacent to the parents’ waiting room. A meticulous inspection of the structure led to the discovery of a torn shopping bag concealed beneath a pile of bricks on the concrete floor of the toilet. Upon opening the bag, officers found a revolver and two rounds of .22 bore ammunition carefully wrapped in a green polythene sheet.

He emphasised that a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the primary origin of the weapon and to identify the individuals responsible for smuggling and concealing it inside the educational institution.
The recovered evidence has been formally transferred to Ashulia Police Station to facilitate subsequent legal procedures. Law enforcement authorities have confirmed that the process of filing a formal criminal case under the Arms Act is currently being finalised.
