President Hamid Demands Strict Punctuality And Attendance In Offices

President M Abdul Hamid has issued a firm directive requiring all government employees, including educators and administrative personnel across public educational institutions, to maintain regular office attendance and execute their professional duties with utmost sincerity and responsibility.

Addressing a local view-exchange gathering comprising regional officials and members of professional bodies, the head of state emphasised that punctual attendance is non-negotiable. He cautioned that strict disciplinary measures would be enforced against individuals failing to comply with official attendance mandates. The remarks followed public grievances concerning educational standards at a local government college, prompting the president to reiterate that adherence to institutional rules and regulations is mandatory for all public servants. Furthermore, he instructed relevant authorities to cultivate a conducive academic environment that prioritises student welfare and quality learning outcomes.

Shifting his focus to regional governance and political harmony, President Hamid urged local elected representatives to bridge political divides and abandon internal feuds to focus collectively on national and regional development. He cautioned the public against misleading narratives propagated by individuals who view the comprehensive development of the haor region as a threat to their political ambitions. Addressing voters directly, he underscored that political figures are transient, urging citizens to elect representatives genuinely committed to community welfare rather than personal or familial enrichment.

Emphasising the core responsibilities of public office, the president noted that leaders ranging from Union Parishad members to Members of Parliament must recognise that their mandate stems from the grassroots. He stressed that elected officials must maintain deep respect and affection for the populace. Turning to environmental preservation within the ecologically fragile haor ecosystem, President Hamid strongly advised against unplanned structural development, instructing relevant administrative bodies to enforce strict oversight to safeguard the local environment from degradation.

The high-level meeting was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Members of Parliament Md Afzal Hossain and Rezwan Ahmmad Taufiq, senior secretaries from Bangabhaban, local civil society leaders, and high-ranking military and civil officials. The president’s engagements formed part of an official tour across the Mithamain, Austagram, and Itna upazilas of his home district to inspect ongoing infrastructural projects and consult directly with local stakeholders, as detailed by [The Business Standard](https://www.tbsnews.net/bangladesh/president-asks-ensure-regular-attendance-offices-483586).
