A wave of shock has gripped the industrial outskirts of Dhaka following the grim discovery of three bodies in separate locations across Savar within a matter of hours. Local law enforcement agencies recovered the deceased, which included a woman and two men, from different residential pockets early Wednesday morning. While initial investigations are underway, authorities have yet to establish clear motives or definitive causes behind these unexplained deaths, leaving local communities deeply unsettled.
The series of tragic discoveries unfolded during the early hours of Wednesday. Local residents in the Chanduliya area of Hemayetpur first raised the alarm after spotting a man’s body hanging from a structural beam inside a residential room. Alarmed by the shocking sight, neighbours immediately notified the local police station. A patrol team from the Savar Model Police Station was swiftly dispatched to the scene, securing the area and recovering the hanging body before dawn broke.
Shortly afterwards, a parallel emergency call directed officers to another part of Hemayetpur, specifically the Meitka neighbourhood. There, police recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified woman. Despite concerted efforts by investigating officers to check local missing persons reports and question residents, the woman’s identity remains completely unknown, compounding the mystery surrounding her demise.
Compounding the day’s tragedy, a third grim recovery was made in the Laltek area of Savar. Officers responding to a separate call entered a residence to find a young man hanging lifelessly indoors. He was subsequently identified as Mohammad Tanmoy Hossain. Following standard legal protocols for unnatural deaths, police gathered preliminary evidence at all three locations before dispatching the remains to the morgue at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital for post-mortem examinations.
Addressing the media regarding the sequence of events, Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Saiful Alam confirmed that formal investigative steps have been initiated. He noted that the exact causes of death can only be confirmed once comprehensive forensic and autopsy reports are finalized. In response to the incidents, police have registered three separate unnatural death cases as inquiries continue to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragedies.
