In Bhola’s Char Fasson Upazila, two schoolboys were electrocuted while returning home after attending private tuition classes. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in front of Teacher Tayeb’s house in Mukharbanda, Omorpur Union.
The deceased are Mohammad Jihad (15) and Mohammad Zubayed (15), both ninth-grade students of Char Fasson T B School. Local residents said the boys were crossing a paddy field on their way home when they came into contact with wires connected to an electric trap.
According to locals, Jahangir Alam had set up the electric trap in his paddy field a few days earlier to catch rats. While crossing the field on Monday afternoon, Jihad and Zubayed accidentally touched the electrified wire and were electrocuted.
They were taken to Char Fasson Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
Officer-in-charge of Char Fasson Police Station, Md. Mizanur Rahman Howlader, confirmed the incident and stated that no written complaint has yet been filed by the families of the deceased.
