According to accounts provided by local eyewitnesses and police officials, residents spotted a lifeless body drifting in the water near the sluice gate situated inside polder number twenty-two in Darun Mallik village. As word of the discovery spread rapidly across the neighbourhood, a large crowd of curious and concerned onlookers quickly gathered along the canal banks to catch a glimpse of the scene. Realising that none of the villagers recognised the deceased, local community members promptly notified the Paikgachha Police Station to handle the situation.

Responding swiftly to the emergency call, a dedicated team of police officers rushed to the designated spot. With the active cooperation of helpful locals, officers pulled the waterlogged remains from the canal and brought them safely ashore. Despite thorough inspection by the gathered public, no one could establish the identity or provide any background information regarding the elderly man, leaving investigators to ponder how he ended up in the waterway.
