Police recovered the hanging body of a BRAC employee from a branch office in the Kanchan Bazar area of Char Jabbar Union in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Daudul Islam Tushar, a resident of Feni district. He had joined the BRAC branch in Kanchan Bazar as an auditor around four months ago, according to information available from local sources.
The body was recovered from a room inside the branch office in the morning. Local sources said people went to collect the key needed to open the office when they discovered Tushar hanging inside one of the rooms. They subsequently informed the police, who arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
A team from Subarnachar Police Station visited the office after being informed of the incident. Officers examined the scene and began gathering preliminary information about the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body was being prepared to be sent to the mortuary of Noakhali General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The examination is expected to provide further medical evidence regarding the circumstances and cause of death.
Subarnachar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Hasan confirmed the recovery of the body. He said police were investigating the incident and that the actual cause of death would become clearer after the post-mortem report was received.
At this stage, police have not disclosed any definitive reason for Tushar’s death. The circumstances in which his body was found are being examined as part of the investigation, while the post-mortem examination will be an important part of determining the medical cause of death.
The incident has caused concern among people in the local area. As the investigation is still at an early stage, officials have refrained from drawing conclusions about what may have happened before the body was discovered.
