Two prisoners, including an Indian national, tragically passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday, 19 March. The deaths were confirmed by Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the hospital’s police outpost.

Victims’ Details

According to preliminary reports, one of the deceased was 34-year-old Indian national Pintu Kumar, son of Alok Kumar. The second was 64-year-old Hasem Khan Talukdar, a resident of Rampur village in Netrokona Sadar, and son of Abdus Salam Gani.

Both prisoners had been admitted to the hospital’s emergency department in critical condition. Medical staff conducted the necessary examinations and declared them dead. Pintu Kumar was pronounced dead shortly before 1:00 PM, while Hasem Khan Talukdar passed away approximately ten minutes later.

The bodies have been preserved in the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Inspector Faruk stated that the precise cause of death will be determined following the autopsy.
