Narine Nears Historic IPL Milestone

West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine stands on the brink of a landmark achievement in the Indian Premier League (IPL), needing just eight more wickets to become the first overseas bowler to claim 200 wickets in the tournament’s history. Representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Narine’s consistency and longevity have made him one of the most influential figures in the competition.

Arriving from Guyana over a decade ago as an enigmatic “mystery spinner”, Narine quickly established himself as a vital cog in KKR’s setup. His debut season in 2012 remains one of the most memorable in IPL history, as he captured 24 wickets and played a pivotal role in guiding the franchise to its maiden title. Few could have predicted then that he would go on to become synonymous with the Kolkata-based side.
