BCB Names New High-Performance Coaches For Zimbabwe Series

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a restructured coaching panel for its High-Performance (HP) department, led by the appointment of Mohammad Salahuddin as Head Coach. The HP division functions as a vital development pathway designed to supply talent to the senior national team, prompting the BCB to organise independent schedules and specialised training structures for the squad each year. For the upcoming 2026 season, the board has implemented a comprehensive overhaul of the technical staff.

The newly assembled coaching unit will officially assume control of the team for the upcoming home series against the touring Zimbabwe ‘A’ squad. In choosing Salahuddin, who has previously worked within the national team setup, the BCB is relying on an experienced domestic tactician to lead its developmental programme. Rather than appointing isolated staff members, the board has filled multiple specialist roles to reshape the entire HP coaching division.

Technical Panel Assignments and Staff Structure

The coaching staff features a blend of local and international cricketal expertise across all major disciplines. Working directly under Head Coach Mohammad Salahuddin, former West Indies test cricketer Corey Collymore will manage the fast-bowling department as the Pace Bowling Coach.

Former national team spinner Abdur Razzak joins the panel as the Spin Bowling Coach, while Sohel Islam will assist the setup as Assistant Coach. Ashik Majumder completes the core technical staff as the designated Fielding Coach.

Itinerary and Match Venue Distribution

The bilateral series is scheduled to begin on 3 June 2026, when the Zimbabwe ‘A’ squad arrives in Dhaka. The tour itinerary includes both limited-overs and multi-day red-ball cricket, distributed across three regional sporting venues.

The competitive phase begins with a three-match 50-over One Day International (ODI) series, with games scheduled for 8, 10, and 13 June 2026. These limited-overs fixtures will be held at stadiums in Bogra and Rajshahi.

Following the limited-overs segment, the teams will shift to first-class cricket for two 4-day matches. The BCB has allocated both multi-day fixtures to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, providing the developmental squad with exposure to longer-format conditions.
