A judicial tribunal in Meherpur has sentenced a 52-year-old man to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of his elderly mother-in-law. She was rushed to a specialist facility for emergency medical intervention, but ultimately succumbed to her severe injuries whilst undergoing treatment.

In the wake of the tragedy, the victim’s daughter—Ambia Khatun, who is also the former wife of the attacker—filed a formal murder complaint at the local Gangni Police Station. The subsequent police investigation led to House Ali’s swift apprehension and the compilation of a detailed forensic charge sheet. Over the intervening years, the tribunal systematically examined medical reports, arson evidence, and eyewitness testimonies to construct a airtight timeline of the crime.
