Hafiz, the son of the late Shukur Ali from the Boali village of Madhupur, had been living on inherited land near the property of his late father-in-law, a former municipal councillor. While outwardly maintaining a profile as a local businessman, his suspicious movements and interactions had quietly drawn the ire and caution of his neighbours over preceding weeks.

The dramatic sequence of events began on Friday afternoon when several alert residents decided to confront the suspect directly. Armed with specific suspicions regarding a narcotics stash hidden inside the premises, the locals challenged Hafiz at his home. Sensing the rapid deterioration of the situation and the gathering crowd, the trader abandoned the property in haste. Realising the gravity of the breach, community members immediately notified the local police station.

Responding swiftly to the alert, a team from Madhupur Police Station rushed to the scene and secured the residence. A thorough search of the living quarters uncovered the hidden contraband. In the presence of local residents and the Assistant Superintendent of Police for the Madhupur Circle, Ariful Islam, the seized pills were officially counted, revealing a total exceeding four thousand Yaba tablets.

Confirming the details of the operation, Assistant Superintendent Ariful Islam stated that formal legal proceedings are underway. A criminal case under the narcotics control act is being filed against the fugitive homeowner and any associated accomplices. Meanwhile, local police units have launched an intensive manhunt to locate and arrest Hafiz Uddin as investigations continue.
