SC orders to strengthen security at courts across country, The Supreme Court (SC) authorities ordered increased security at all courts across the nation after two death-row inmates escaped from police custody in Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court this noon.

“Following the direction of the chief justice, the authorities concerned have been asked to strengthen security at all the courts across the country so that no untoward incident takes place there,” Supreme Court spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman told.

By sprinkling some chemical over the eyes of the law enforcement officials, alleged members of the outlawed militant group Ansar-al Islam whisked away Abu Siddiq Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, who were found guilty and given the death penalty in the murder case of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan.

According to the chief of the Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police, Harun-Or-Rashid, who verified the incident to BSS, the two death row inmates were abducted by four individuals travelling on two motorcycles at around noon. He added that there is a campaign to find the militants who were kidnapped.
