“The people of the country get shocked when they (BNP) talk about Tarique Rahman as he is the symbol of terrorism, violence and corruption to the countrymen,” he added. In response to a question on the BNP secretary general’s statement that they would restore Tarique Rahman to power and declare the nation independent for a second time, the minister made this statement to media in the ministry meeting room at the Secretariat here.
According to Hasan, Tarique is also the poster child for “Hawa Bhababn” lootings and a convicted defendant in the much-discussed 10-truck guns case. Under the direction of Tarique Rahman, they would stage protests throughout the nation, which will entail starting arson attacks and again burning people alive, he continued.
However, the minister said, their compatriots would fight back (BNP). Hasan, who serves as the joint general secretary of the Awami League, claimed that by talking about Tarique, they were alienating the populace. In response to a different question regarding the claim that the government is filling ghost cases, the minister stated that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is making ghost statements rather than the government filling any ghost cases. According to Hasan, police are detaining suspects whose bail has been revoked.
