Inter-District Robbery Gang Arrested in Comilla

Comilla’s Detective Branch (DB) police have apprehended six members of an inter-district robbery gang, seizing firearms and other materials in a pre-dawn operation on Monday, 5 January. The arrests took place in Jangalia, Sadar South Upazila, during a meticulously planned raid based on confidential intelligence.

According to DB sources, the arrested individuals were previously involved in multiple robbery incidents across the region. Each suspect faces between five and seven criminal cases, and all are recognised as leaders within the gang’s inter-district operations.

Superintendent of Investigation (SI) Pabitra Sarkar, head of the operation, stated that the suspects had gathered in Jangalia with a pickup truck and eight cattle intended for sale when police intercepted them. The raid was executed in the presence of Assistant Police Superintendent Arnab and SI Taukik, leading to the suspects’ capture at the scene.
