Residents and local businesses across multiple neighbourhoods in Gazipur face a scheduled seven-hour power outage today due to urgent maintenance works undertaken by the local electricity supply authority. The temporary disruption is part of routine grid upkeep aimed at ensuring long-term infrastructural reliability, though it will inevitably cause daytime inconvenience for local inhabitants.
According to official announcements, the power suspension affects numerous sectors operating under the jurisdiction of the Konabari Zonal Office. Md. Shafiqul Islam, the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the zonal office, confirmed the scheduled shutdown. Utility representatives have formally expressed regret for the temporary hardship experienced by consumers throughout the affected zones.
The extensive list of impacted locations encompasses a wide residential and commercial footprint within the region. Among the areas experiencing the outage are Kuddus Nagar, Peyara Bagan, Chairman Bari Mor, the vicinities surrounding the local jail, Cotton Club, Halima Road, Namapara, 10-Tola, Konabari Housing, Pukurpar, Jarun, Pathanbari Road, and the lane housing the Titas factory.
