Bangladeshi Taka Holds Steady as Fresh Foreign Exchange Rates Released

The central bank of Bangladesh has released the official daily exchange rates for major foreign currencies, offering fresh benchmarks for cross-border trade, personal remittances, and commercial banking operations.

According to the latest figures published by Bangladesh Bank, the Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) continues to trade in a narrow range against key global currencies. The benchmark US Dollar is quoted at buying and selling rates of 124.32 BDT and 124.35 BDT respectively.

European and British major currencies retain their elevated valuations against the domestic currency. The British Pound Sterling stands at 167.47 BDT for buying and 167.52 BDT for selling. Meanwhile, the Euro is being traded at 139.57 BDT on the buying side and 139.65 BDT on the selling side.

For regional trade and economic interaction across Asia and the Pacific, key regional currencies show steady trading spreads:

  • Indian Rupee (INR): Buying at 1.31 BDT; Selling at 1.32 BDT.

  • Australian Dollar (AUD): Buying at 87.07 BDT; Selling at 87.13 BDT.

  • Singapore Dollar (SGD): Buying at 97.17 BDT; Selling at 97.27 BDT.

  • Chinese Yuan (CNY): Buying at 18.62 BDT; Selling at 18.63 BDT.

  • Japanese Yen (JPY): Buying at 0.78 BDT; Selling at 0.78 BDT.

Foreign exchange rates set by Bangladesh Bank serve as an anchor for authorised financial intermediaries and commercial banking channels across the country. While commercial banks set their final retail counter rates based on specific transaction types—such as telegraphic transfers, letter of credit endorsements, and cash notes—these official reference figures establish the baseline for daily foreign trade settlements and remittance processing.
