Seven Leading Bangladeshi Bands to Headline Dhaka Concert

Seven of Bangladesh’s most popular bands are set to take the stage at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on 7 November as part of the celebrations marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day. The special concert, scheduled to begin at 3.30 pm, will bring together some of the country’s best-known names in band music for an afternoon of live performances.

According to sources at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the participating acts will include Nagar Baul James, Miles, Warfaze, Feedback, Artcell, Shironamhin and Mechanics. Representing different generations and musical styles, the seven bands will share the same stage, making the event a notable gathering for fans of Bangladesh’s rock and contemporary band music.

The line-up brings together artists and groups that have played significant roles in shaping the country’s musical landscape. Nagar Baul James is widely recognised for his distinctive voice, energetic stage presence and popular rock songs. Miles has built a strong reputation through its melodic compositions and enduring appeal, while Warfaze is among the prominent names associated with Bangladesh’s rock and heavy metal scene.

Feedback also holds an established place in the history of local band music, having maintained a long presence in the industry. Artcell has attracted a dedicated following through its progressive metal sound and distinctive musical arrangements. Shironamhin, meanwhile, is known for its individual approach to composition, thoughtful lyrics and recognisable sound. Mechanics will add another dimension to the programme as one of the familiar names in the country’s band music scene.

Bringing these groups together offers audiences an opportunity to experience a range of musical styles in one setting. Their individual approaches reflect the diversity of Bangladesh’s band music, which has evolved over several decades through the contributions of different artists and generations. From rock and metal to melodic and contemporary compositions, the concert is expected to offer something for listeners with varied musical preferences.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, with support from the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. BAMBA’s involvement reflects the importance of collaboration with organisations representing the country’s band music community in arranging large-scale musical events.

The organisers are also seeking to extend the concert’s reach beyond the capital. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs has requested public and private television and radio channels to broadcast the programme live. If the arrangements proceed as planned, audiences across the country will be able to enjoy the performances from their homes, alongside those attending the event at Manik Mia Avenue.

The proposed broadcast is expected to make the occasion accessible to music lovers who may not be able to travel to Dhaka. It would also provide an opportunity for the participating bands to reach a wider national audience through television and radio.

Manik Mia Avenue, one of the capital’s prominent open public spaces, will provide the venue for the celebrations. The combination of a national observance and performances by seven established bands is expected to give the programme a distinct musical character.

With Nagar Baul James, Miles, Warfaze, Feedback, Artcell, Shironamhin and Mechanics on the line-up, the 7 November concert is shaping up to be an attractive event for Bangladesh’s band music enthusiasts. The planned live broadcasts could make it an occasion enjoyed not only by concertgoers in Dhaka but also by audiences across the country.
